You hardly can get bored in Bristol during the night: go to Bristol Academy or Creation if you like hip-hop and r'n'b music (on thursday), try to get into the Massive Attack club, don't miss all the clubs on the Watershed. Enjoy tipical English pub from 7pm till 11pm: if you like jazz and want to have fun, go to the Old Duke. To dance salsa or just to breath a "latin atmosphere" go to Fiesta Havana (my favourite!)...

The Union Activities (UBU) at the University, The BISC for excellent British afetrnoon snack, The Works and The Creation (beautiful night discos), The Old Vic and Redgrave Theatre,The Hippodrome,the free music at The Victoria Rooms, most of the pubs and in particular the Withe Bear for the tasty hamburger and the Old Duke for the enjoyable live music.

Check out Park Street for cafés. Clifton Wine Bar is packed with students. In general, social activities depends on your new friends.

You can't miss evolution. I was a big fan of Brasserie Pierre, Clifton. But just follow people.

The Bierkeller is nice and there are a lot other Pubs and Clubs, you can choose as well dependently from where you live.
