Before arriving to Scotland I already had a good level of English. However, the accent in this area was a way different from what I was used to. For this reason, at the beginning it was a bit hard to understand the slang of the young students. However, I joined the university basketball team and I get used to hear their accent and expressions pretty quickly. Now even some people tell me that I have got a Scottish accent!

University of Abertay is very student-friendly univeristy. Dundee itself is a small city but has many lovely places to visit. Worth to live in for a year or two but not more that this. Rather old-people city.

Going into second year, the common thing to do is share a flat with a friend or friends. It generally works out cheaper.

The accomodation is quite basic. 1st years are placed quite far from the university. Always book your accommodation early or you may be placed in the crappy Taymills place like me... horribly bad. I got lucky and found a lovely place to stay instead.
