Personal comments
On the whole, it was very good. Being in an international student residence I immediately met many people from all over the world. I learned a lot from living together like this.

Very good. You will improve your language by reading, preparing essays, and also in the day to day student life. But, it is importante to notice that most of the time your student life will include more overseas students, and not many natives.

Overall
Learning material is of high standard and hard. Courses are intense (compared to Lithuanian university courses). Teachers are very smart and are always helpful.

Pros
Variety of societies is great as every single person can find a society where they find like-minded people. I founded UCL Pharmacology society. Here I not only found like-minded people but developed personally (my leadership and organisational skills)
Cons
university accommodation is given to 1-st year students only. It would be great that all students would have an opportunity to stay in university accommodation

Personal spending habits
The only reason why my housing fees were reasonable was because I was living in University accommodations. Otherwise, they would have been insane.

Personal comments
Health Care is provided by the State for all students at the University. I actually had to go to the emergency room once and all I had to do was show them my student id and student health card that I was issued.
The University accommodation that I was staying in provided one pillow, one sheet and a light weight duvet upon my arrival, so that was nice.
I would have worked if it hadn't been such a pain in the ass to get a job as a non-EU citizen. In order for a non-EU citizen to get a job, a job posting has to be posted in the paper for at least two weeks and then you can go to the employment offices and get permission to apply for a job. However, it will only be approved if the manangement at the desired workplace can prove that there is no other British citizen that can/will fill the position. So, basically, as one might imagine, most decent/well paying jobs are not hanging about in the papers, unanswered for two week. The only jobs that are left were pub jobs which pay NOTHING. Furthemore, even these pub jobs are appealing to British/EU students (because of the hours), so one would have to compete with them, too. Yet, as the government sees it, there is no competition. British/EU citizens have first grabs.

“As university, its OK, but...”
Tomoaki M
Japan, Masters
Education, 2020
Overall
As university in general, it was OK. They offered fantastic courses and staff were generally helpful. However, in some departments, it was another story. Admin staff did not do their job at all and they complained everything and every minutes. They even forced students to hide their mistakes.
I do not believe they represent British working class.

World class academics, name value, a lot of opportunities
Cons
Some academic departments need a complete restructuring
