Personal recommendation
Stay in inter-collegiate halls if possible, it allows you to meet more people with more divers backgrounds. Get involved in local student groups through UCL or University of London, the oppertunities are endless

Personal comments
Astor College, the dorm, was jail-like, but every floor was a great mix of internationals. Much of the housing is conveniently situated in down-town London. I had some friends who had to hike from 40 min away. Like in real-estate, Location is everything!

“One of London's top and busiest Universities.”

Overall
Studying at UCL provides one with a plethora of opportunities, not only in the academic scope but also socially and career-wise. UCL offers hundreds of extracurricular activities and societies to join, a great way to make friends or interact with people with whom you wouldn't normally. Workshops and career fairs are very frequent and are a good chance to meet important employers and employees from businesses/ companies which interest you or your field of study.

Pros
One of the highest ranking universities in London and the country, brilliant resources, professors and research.
Cons
There is perhaps a less intimate relationship between students and professors on some courses due to a high volume of students in each class. Professors may take a more detached approach in their teaching style, independence is expected of students.

“Horrible School (for Economics students)”

Overall
UCL is in a great location. I've taken a few classes in the Bioscience department and they have great professors. The campus has an interesting history. I am primarily an Economics student.
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT ATTENDING UCL. The main issue is because of the administration. There was an administrative error in my enrollment information that put a block on my account that prevented me from enrolling and registering for classes. It was not true so there was nothing I could do to resolve it on my end. I emailed my tutor and she didn't help. I emailed the department in charge of visa information. They didn't help. I emailed my department. No one helped. I spent weeks emailing, trying to find SOMEONE who can help me simply enroll and be in classes. It was horribly stressful. It was nearly a MONTH into the semester before I was able to be in all my classes: my classes of last choice because all my options filled up in the meantime. Then I was behind in all my modules the entire time! That was very stressful. Then, due to changes with COVID, when I went home, I had housing instability during my exam window. I applied for extenuating circumstances and they did not get back to me before the exam date, so I was very stressed and had to take my exams from a hotel. The administration of this school is so unorganized. You wont have time to be stressed about your courses, you'll be too stressed about the administration. They don't care. They don't help. You will fail your classes because of the administration, even if you're a very bright student otherwise. Don't go here for Economics, go to LSE, I've heard Econ students have good experiences there. The biosciences department at UCL is actually quite organized and helpful. Just AVOID taking economics here AT ALL COSTS. It will cost your mental health and thousands of pounds. I want my money and time back. UCL is horrible.

Personal comments
I had no problems in most social occasions, but find it difficult to express myself in seminars. Also I find that an ability to speak the language does not mean you are familiar with their culture; therefore, I often find the culture aspect the biggest problem of all.
