Housing
Type of housing: GuestHouse
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: GuestHouse
Why?
The guesthouse is a kind of campus close to the University. Almost all exchange students live ther and it's a good way to meet people from all over the world.

Personal comments
Everything was arrangged before my arrival and this was a great advantage as I know that in some other cities you have to find housing by yourself. The facilities were also satisfactory and the reception was very welcoming and helpful to settle in the city.

I wish I had known...
A little more information about the country and the dutch life style

In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
Try to improve current activities in which international students can meet more easily dutch people. As well try to advertise and improve ways in which the international students can learn more about dutch culture, as they are many students that come anually to this University and at the end they don'know a single word of dutch language, nor dutch culture and people

Maastricht is a good location from which organise travels in the Central Europe. It's nice to have a bike, there are many places where to have a ride just outside outskirts.

Cheaps ways to travel are:
Company to fly:
ryanair.com
vbird.com
corondon.com (from Eindhoven to Istanbul)
skyeurope.com
by bus:
eurolines.com
to rent a car is a very cheap way to travel around Netherlands, to go to Paris, etc. For Germany there are a lot of websites where you can share car with people who offer themselves, for example to go to Berlin for 25 euros one way, normally from Aachen always, it's cheaper.

Personal spending habits
well, first of all at home i lived with my parents, so i didn't have to pay for food, or housing; and second, because i went out much more often while abroad, prices were higher, i traveled everytime i could, and i had to make international phone calls constantly, things that i very randomly did at home.

Academic
Course recommendations
The level of the courses is very high! Very good language skills are crucial to follow the courses without major problems and a realistic chance to pass the exams. Furthermore exchange students have the same rights and duties as regular students, so there is absolutely NO "exchange student" bonus! But the quality of the courses is very good and most of the contents are interesting.
