Milan is an expensive city compared to the rest of Italy and certainly the Netherlands. My rent was double of what it is at home and supermarkets were very expensive.

Telephone in Italy is very expensive because it was pre-paid. I spent an average of 60Euros = 75 dollars per month. In the US I spend usually 35 dollars per month.
