I wish I had known...
I found my contact there quite unhelpful. I'd have benefited from a better infrastructure though that my have been the fault of my home university department.

Personal recommendation
Zaragoza is a fantastic city for an Erasmus exchange because it is a good size (not too big to be overwhelming, and not too small to get boring) In the space of an academic year you can make the most of what is has to offer. The university campus is central and compact, the atmosphere is welcoming.

I would not recomend travelling to Zaragoza airport, but instead going to either Madrid or Barcelona. This is a much cheaper option and there are good train and bus (cheaper still) links between these cities.

Overall

skiing: go to the Pyeneos, you will love it; as well in the summer and fall. They are just 2 hours away... beach: go up to Asturia...but not in the high season since it will be overpriced...; and of course: barcelona is a must!

The education is not on a very high level, but the Spanish are great , yet a little shy, so you have to be the "open" one.
