I joined a dance class and played music in the bars, which was the best way for me to meet locals.
There is a student run group, AEGEE, which takes Erasmus students on excursions to other parts of Spain. I also joined the university walking group, which was a great way to see other parts of Asturias.
The nightlife in Oviedo is brilliant during term time but in the summer everyone goes out in Gijon. Plaza del Sol and Calle Mon is where most of the partying happens in Oviedo.
Favourite bars...La Caja Negra, El Gato, Olivar, Masaveu
Favourite cafes...Cafe Julio, Kin
Go to Gascona to try the sidra, Plaza de Paraguas for the cheese boards and Arte Paris for cocktails.

If you wanna have fun-go to spain, but remember that behind the wonderful nightlife you also have to wake up in the morning and study,if not you will probably fail.

Spanish people are very friendly, always easy to work with them,if they notice that you are from other country they are very ready to help-the like it.Here it´s easy to travel, but hich-hiking is forbiden.Spain is still one of the cheapest country in europe,so you don´t need so much money. You will surely like the nightnife here,it´s unbelivable.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I enjoyed living in a flat as I was able to meet other students. I lived with three Spanish girls which I think made all the difference in improving ym Spanish.

I am not sure about the University accomodation as I decided to find a flat locally. However, the reason I chose to find a flat was because I thought the university accomodation was very expensive.
