Complete university
Cristian B
Luxembourg, Undergraduate
Business Studies, 2019
Overall
The university is really good in almost all aspects. It is really well conected to universities around the world, which gives you a lot of opportunities in terms of exchange programs.

The professors are almost all of them really well qualified and they also have experience in their field.

Also you have conections to a lot of companies, so it is always easy to find internships.

I'm very happy that I didn't house at the university, because UAB isn't in Barcelona centre, but in Bellatera.

I would recommend it to anybody who wants to spend a semester in a sunny, fun and thrilling city! Don't expect too much studying! But that's what Erasmus is all about right?

If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why?
even if it can you days and weeks to find a room in BCN it's worth the trouble. there's incredible flats that you would not know anything about if you would accept the first offer you are given.

Living on the campus and nearby villages means a 45 minutes travel to the city of BCN. However, you are adviced to live in the heart of a city if you want to it to move you. To me BCN offers a thousand things I can benefit from and I think it would be sad to limit yourself by living outside the city. Although the UAB offers rooms in the city as well especially these are often connected with never-thought-of problems coming up.

Try to get an exchange student for Pompeu Fabra University. It is located in the centre of Barcelona and has a fantastic reputation!

Overall
The courses focused on remembering as much information as you can to pass the exam rather than understanding, critical skills etc. Teachers were often late to their own classes, they seemed unmotivated and I received very little feedback.

The housing area of the school is moldy. I was sick most of my exhange and went through multiple respiratory infections. Other exhange students had similar issues and some had mold visible in their apartment walls.

Student life at UAB is very vibrant and they organize activities. My faculty was very excluded from the official campus, therefore I didn't really get to experience any of this.

A lot of bureaucracy and inequality.

Unfortunately, I didn't really get anything out of this exhange.
