The Hague University (HHS)

Although it wasn´t very clean, the most important thing was the people you have to shared the house with.

My accommodation was without heating, with rats and without any working furniture. This sounds like it was terrible (and yes, it was, atleast in the beginning) But I have to comment that we were put together in a very special way through we were forced to cooperate and together we were able to work out a plan to make everything work, cultural, language and housing facilities. The situation created an atmosphere of teamwork over the culturalborder and created an experience where we learned to work together. AND that is the best visdom I have learned from the netherlands, to be able to solve problems together with people from different cultures and acctually I really loved it.

The best thing is the friendly atmosphere of exchange students in the residence

It wasn´t clean but the environment was pretty nice, I mean, the relation between the people who was living in the same building was great.

The host university helps in finding an arrangement (flat/kind of camous)etc However, it is an above-market price arrangement. Sometimes, You can be very unplesantly surprised.

Housing in the Netherlands is a difficult topic to get into, but basically you have two options: 1) You manage to secure a place on campus, i.e. in a semi-gov. funded, but privately owned facility and pay loads; or 2) you have to deal with the dutch -who hate foreigners or at least want to take advantage as much as possible- who will rent out the shittiest european shitholes, which no dutch or other euro person wants and pay loads too, prices are comparable to New York/London, only that it is not New York/London. I suggest you move in with German folks, its way cheaper and the quality ... well the germans have laws about quality, so don't worry -but with the money you save you can travel by train or even plane to whatever school you go to -on those few occasions that you actually have to do something there.
