I think that the accomodation is quite good in this university, perhaps not very clean, but that depends on the own students. There are several kinds of residence, in my case, i had to do interviews in order to be "accepted" in a student appartment.

Darmstadt is a University-city. In layman terms, the city is dominated by students. Hence there is severe scarcity of proper student accomodation. Its always judicious to look for housing independently and don't depend on the University.
