There is no tuition fee for most of the courses in Finland, so the major part of youru funds go to living. but there are some chances that one can save money with a little efforts like groceries one should get a discount card from any store and can enjoy it during living, most of the stores offer these cards. About night life, there are some places that offer special rates for students with some time limitations like happy hours so one should know about these. Another tip is that one should buy a bike for travellingm in this way he can save a lot of money that is required to make passes for daily travel. The fair is high and this is a small city, you can go easily to anywhere on your bike.

My University doesn't have on campus living facility, however this city of Vaasa is not a big one and there is a housing authority for students especially that arranges the accomodation for students coming all over the world. I don't think that there could be any problem for students to arrange their accomodation here. The environment in the students areas is just like on campus living as all international and national students live in that area which is also near to the university.

The language of the host country (Finland) is soumi and I must say that this is the most difficult language of the EU, The problem is that most od the people here dont understand english clearly and one can have a lot of problems while getting some information about some social things. As for as the academic area is concerned, the language of instruction of most of the courses is soumi, however there are few courses including mine that are being taught in english so I didn't face any problem so far in my academic activities, all teachers are well versed with this language and most of them have international post-graduate degrees.

Vaasa is a student's city so there are number of places all over there for atudents that provide special facilities to them, especially for night life there is a disco club named Papinnena, that is free for students. Other clubs and bars like Fontana, Giggling Marlin and DOM are good places. For other activities the problem is the language, residents dont know english largely and international students may have some problems in finding the right places for entertainment. No English newspaper is available from where you can get some information about the ongoing activities in the city.
