Communication has never been a problem for me during my exchange program. I am bilingual in Swedish and Spanish so I have had no problems in understanding Swedish. Even though I speak with an accent from Stockholm since childhood, now that I have been here for almost 9 months, Swedes find it very difficult to notice that I am not the regular Swedish. English is the main language spoken among exchange students as well as the language of instruction, and having spoken it for over a year now every day and in all situations I feel very comfortable speaking the language.

In my host country, the language is Swedish. Most of the people speak in local language. They are quite fluent in English as well. I did not find any difficulty while interacting with most of the people. Only problem was in case of reading anything. Overall, my experience was great

All Master's courses are in English - for me that was no problem both understanding the subject and communicating with the staff and the students. My impression is that perhaps 95% of Swedes speak a decent English - no problem maneuvring in the social life.

I really intended to learn some Swedish, but it was practically impossible, since everyone (really everyone!) speaks almost perfect English and they switch to it as soon as they notice you are a foreigner (out of courtesy)

I didn't have any difficulty in communication in English with both Swedish students and students from outside Sweden. Some local people do not speak fluent English, then I spoke in some Swedish.

All courses at the SSE are held in English, so it was no problem. Sweden is a bilingual country - really everybody speaks English. This makes it almost impoossible to learn Swedish.
