Be prepared to fit in. Try to work hard as well. Your stay might be short, but still take the most of the local resources to start com;pleting your assignments and dissetation. Otherwise, be prepared finacially. Good way to get to know the area working through the uni temp agency

If yuo drive. Just bring your car> the city is quite dead. you need a car to go shopping in asda for Food. The City center is 30mn by feet,and transport could be expensive. Otherwise try to share in between friends whenver you go food shopping the oil expenses.

for a french it's not the best choice ever. this year more than 80 french students were there which is quite huge seeing the size of the campus

For the accomodation if you want to live with international students or people you want to know a minimum before to live definitely with them, the best thing to do is to stay one month or a little more in a shared accomodation via the university facilities then to know people and after take a shared independent house with them

If you have work experience (i.e) 2 to 4 years, then its not the right choice. But, if not, then come down as this place is quite cheap to afford.

Univ is somewhat ok.... but this place sucks.... only few good Indian restaurants. and very few places to freak out....

Eve, if Stoke is a little city, the good point is that Manchester and Birmingham are not far and you can travel around in order to see something different. But you need money for that..

when it comes to the degree program this is the most interesting subject i studied in my life time because the subject is keep updating itself according to the environment changes and once we try to fix a problem a new problem will arise without our awareness. some can prevent with a close look but most of the problem will be arise without giving away any alert. that is why i recommend this subject. althogh the subject is valid all around the world so affording money on the course is not a waste on my opinion but you must do your best.
