Not the best place tu study at, but you can mae it work
Elizaveta K
Russia, Graduate
International Relations, 2020
Overall
I think that in my field, International Relations, professors are simply great and dedicated. Students can get different opportunities as in studying abroad and finding jobs, but only the best students actually sieze these chances. The system of the university though is not up to date despite them claiming otherwise. It can be described as an endless red-tape. Moreover, you can be expelled if you express unwanted political views publicly

Personal comments
Due to budget cuts and other factors, the Russian department at my home University is suffering greatly, with one professor of Russian for all four years. This lack of diversity in instructors is sorry. But the professors and administrators at the Russian university were amazingly kind, generous, and over all willing to help us out in any situation.

It is an amazing experience! If you decide to visit Moscow while in St. Petersburg, take the Krasnaya Strela (Red Arrow) night train. It is an experience of its own.

The accomodation and nightlife are at a higher cost in St. Petersburg than in Blagoevgrad. I didn't realy change my nightlife habits, but a little more money were spent for the same 'goods'.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Sharing the apartment with other students from different nationalities was an amazing experience, and it offered better conditions than a student dormitory.

Personal comments
The accomodation was conviniently located at the centre of St. Petersburg, but the cost of the room was a bit high for Russian standards.
