Central London is the absolute best for clubs, bars, and theatre! Weeknights are the cheapest for going clubbing...check TimeOut for clubs having drink specials. Besides traveling on your own, Regent's College also arranges weekend trips to places like Edinburgh, Paris, and Wales, as well as daytrips to Stonehenge, Canterbury, etc, that end up cheaper and easier than if you'd done it on your own.

For the latest & cheapest happy hour I found, hit the Gardening Club in Covent Garden. Not sure what the prices are now, but then it went on till 10 pm and you could get half price pitchers & cocktails...good stuff!

the nightlife in london is amazing! very expensive though. a lot of americans went to sports cafe, o'neils was also fun. actually, Regent's has its own school pub which is cheaper, convenient and a lot of fun.

Try a club called Fabric, it's in some converted industrial complex and pretty popular. The crowd is mostly young people from around london, and a few unsavory types (pickpockets, drug dealers, etc.) It's REAL London, not the Piccadilly crap.

Best spot was actually on campus bar, not only students went there, but some other outside people as well. It's cheaper than off-campus bar too.
