The Prince Leopold Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium (ITMA) is one of the world's leading institutes for training, research and assistance in tropical medicine and health care in developing countries. It started its activities in Brussels in 1906, and has been based in its characteristic buildings in Antwerp since 1931. Today, it works with its partners all over the world towards a common goal of "health for all".
ITMA is an independent centre for specialised academic research and training, recognised and funded by the Ministry of Education of the Flemish Community in Belgium.
