“Nicolaus Copernicus University - a small big Polish university”
Gabriela Z
France, Graduate
Philology, 2021
Overall
What I love about my university (Nicolaus Copernicus University - PL: Uniwersytet Mikołaja Kopernika), and especially - about my Faculty of Humanities - is the welcoming and heartwarming atmosphere. I graduated from 2 BA's programmes there: Classics and French Philology and I can truly recommend these two to all young humanists seeking friendly and helpful lecturers and quite a big library (as for Polish conditions). I should also mention the city of Torun - a good place to study with its medieval old town and green areas.

Personal comments
Next to uni campuses there is a Manekin- the best place to go for a lunch (shared lunch £1) right next to it OdNowa Night Club with a student discount- lots of concerts and parties with rock music. The centre, which is 10 min on the bus has mixture of bars, nightclubs, cinemas, etc. The city is dominated by students, so you will find lots of student discounts, free entrances etc. Every Thursday Student party for free in Kotlownia-just next to one of a campus.International Students parties every second week, within friendly people and atmosphere. Although not many places to do sightseeing, the city itself is beautiful.

“Student friendly place”

Overall
Although it may seem that all the universities should be student friendly, sadly they are not. Nicholas Copernicus University is one of those places where a student can feel support and help in any problem regarding the faculty. Professors engage in their work and inspire to do more than just the obligatory tasks. In that university a student can not only develop his knowledge but also gain believe in his ideas and see a lot of opportunities.
