In the beginning I wasn't really sure if I want to learn swedish at all, but I realized that if I really want to get to know some swedes I would have to. don't get me wrong, they nearly all speak perfect english, but when you go out with them they might not want to speak english with their friends all the time. And I want to know what they say to them anyway ;)

Swedes speak great English so you can get away without speaking a word of English. However, I suggest you study the languange as much as possible, especially if your like me and only speak English fluently :o(

One of the most obvious points is that the Swedes have an extremely good level of English. This means conversations will most likley lead to English and so to practice Swedish takes an extra effort. Otherwise, it is a failry simple lanugage gramatically, but not the easiest for pronunciation.
