These 4 months I spent in Wageningen, and in Holland were unforgettable, not only because of the valuable work I did to collect materials for my thesis, but also because i got to know a lot of interesting people (Dutch and international as well), I visited Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Gouda, Utrech, Maastrich (just to mentione some of them), and the Dutch culture in general amazed me. One single advice at last: Do not forget your umbrella at home!!!!!!

I was speaking a fluent Dutch when I arrived in Wageningen. I was keen on improving my Dutch. There were Dutch classes offered but only for the beginners and advanced. All Dutch people speak a very good English and they like to speak English. I still had the opportunity to speak Dutch at the bank, when shopping etc. I could also speak Dutch with some of my house mates. There are many international students, so I was speaking mostly English. Meeting all these internatinal students also provided me the chance to improve the other languages I speak. Overall, it was a great experience. I would rate it as excellent.

Housing
Type of housing: A room exchange
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why?
I lived in a student residence with Dutch flatmates, so I could get to know more about the culture and the people of The Netherlands, I really enjoyed it.

Personal comments
The university offered several apartments to share with the rest of students, some of the flats were composed by international students, and others just by Dutch students with a room for an international, which was the one I had so my personal experience was very satisfactory. However, some of the flats didn´t have a common area such a living room, so the students couldn´t get to know eachother as they spent the time in their own rooms.
