Thank you to Leuven I could practise the English I had learnt for many years at school, I improved it and became fluent in speaking, writing and reading.

The language was never a problem as everybody speaks english. I also speak a little bit of french but it did not help too much in this region.

Official language in Leuven is Flemish, but we always spoke in English,in deed I only learn some flemish vocabulary, phrases and expressions

I regret that I hadn't learnt Dutch, but I knew that over there I had to decide between the local language and and English. It was a great opportunity to use and improve a language that I haven't used before (English, I was used to speak French)

I also attended some courses presented in Dutch - the standard of education was much higher than the english-language courses. Also, the dutch-languaged courses was better organised in terms of class outings, interaction, guest speakers, etc.

I improved my English since I have spent two years in the Host University, first as Erasmus Student and aftrewards as a Master student
