The 99 Yen store is very good for grocery shopping. Find out which days of the week supermarkets have sales (usually mid-week). Go to flee markets: really cool items for very little money. Find coupons - they are everywhere and for everything.

Dorms were included in my tuition. Travel was undeniable. I used the telephone less than at home (virtually everyone was in the dorms). Nightlife was available, but reasonable. Food...incredible...but I somehow managed moderation (and still managed to lose weight).

Astigmatism in my eyes from writing a 130 page research paper for my home university under flourescent lights. Be wary of headaches from overstudying. Everything else is pretty much straightforward.

Most ATMs are not 24 hours. The school cafeteria is actually pretty good, and cheap. Eat there and save money.
