Kansai Gaidai University

Every living situation at Kansai Gaidai is a winning scenario. To live in the Dorms means trapping yourself in an English bubble, but you will meet great friends from all around the world. There are three dormatories. The newest and nicest, "Seminar House III" has suites, or apartments with four rooms each. Very nice, the compartmentalization means people there usually have fewer but stronger friends. The oldest dorm is the most social, mostly because it has the kindest manager of the three dorms and it has one common lounge. If want to learn Japanese, this is a losing scenario unless you are strong willed. Homestay, is usually the best choice for learning the language even if you get a bad family, But if you want to stay out late, better opt for the dorm.

Go there with an open mind, and try to do it all.

Nothing else.

I am very shy, so speaking a foreign language has always been difficult for me. However, as time went on, I found it easier to use the language I had learnt, and more confident. In fact, gaining confidence made more of a difference to me than gaining proficiency!

Japanese is a tough language, even in Japan. You need to be self-motivated and put a lot of effort into it. I didn't have a lot of motivation and I'm really lazy so I didn't really improve as much as I would have liked to. Kind of a shame but oh well.

My friend loved it, that's why I came. People in my class are not happy. We had fun, but it definitely wasn't what I had been told. I feel bad because I did make friends and had a good time. I liked one of my classes. I'm mad that they lied to me about the classes and about credit and don't care that it cost me an extra semester.
