Karaoke is absolutely not to be missed! Sushi bar are great! And every festival should be seen.

I was probably one of the very few people who didn't get a chance to go to the local bars/restaurant (Jam Jam, Fujiyama Cafe). All the good night clubs would have to be in Osaka, which is about 30min train ride away, depending where you live. If in doubt where to go, Shinsaibashi is the place!

Japanese classes are great and challenging. There are Japanese students in the English electives too, but most of the time they don't really talk or participate. School staff are generally proficient in English but most people outside of the campus environment don't speak any English at all.
