Many of the English courses are not really good and exams are often a joke like the teacher is not even in the classroom and everybody is copying haha. The Japanese courses are better as you learn something useful for your everyday life as speaking Japanese helps so much in Japan but the level is not that good compared to other universities and school in Japan. Still much better than back home though.

All the courses would just need to be a notch higher quality and more serious... but to be honest, are you really coming to Japan to spend your time studying? That would kill your experience in this amazing country, so I guess it is better like it is now.. not much studying, lots of partying.

Dorms were included in my tuition. Travel was undeniable. I used the telephone less than at home (virtually everyone was in the dorms). Nightlife was available, but reasonable. Food...incredible...but I somehow managed moderation (and still managed to lose weight).

Astigmatism in my eyes from writing a 130 page research paper for my home university under flourescent lights. Be wary of headaches from overstudying. Everything else is pretty much straightforward.

The Electives often sound way more interesting and challenging in the course descriptions than they really are. I heard some classes are better than the others, but mine, in terms of quality and difficulty, were basically a joke. One of my prof basically told us he's teaching here simply because he couldn't get a job back in the US. If you go to a first-tier school in the US or anywhere else in the world, you will probably find the classes fairly disappointing. Japanese classes were challenging and the profs were extremely friendly and helpful.

Ask people who have been here about classes you plan to take. Course descriptions are not reliable at all.

the internet connection is very slow, you cannot use credit cards everywhere, most transactions are done in cash.

Osaka is not a good place to go really wild for the whole night! Its free although to get in, but the drinks is very expensive!!! There are many karaoke places and gamecenters or bowling. But you would like to go dancing all night, you should go to motherhall which is one of the few big clubs. But for a really good party and hangout place I would rather go to TOKYO!!! there are many clubs and many places to chill. My favourite club in Tokyo is HARLEM, club asia, liquid room, yellow, Velfare, etc and the best place to chill is Shibuya, Shinjuku and ODAIBA. besides city life there are many beaches as well aroung Tokyo. But OSAKA sucks.

Internet cafes are great places to sleep if you miss the last train home. Karaoke should not be missed with a large group of friends.
