Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The university housing is really quite miserable, your best bet is to get a studio, appartment on your own. I stayed at a place called les estudines, they have residences throughout France. The residences are great, clean, and ideal location, the only problem is it was quite expensive. I would recomend finding housing at either the university residences (CROUS), or something like les estudines, but only signing for a month or so, then when you get there look around for a apartment/studio. Reason being, you can probably find housing online before you leave to study abroad, but it will more then likely be a lot more expensive then if you look around once you arrive.

There are plenty of options for housing. On a tight budget? Go for the CROUS housing (130 euro) a month, if you can afford a little more got for something independantly.

Living in a centrally located apartment was great, and not to expensive. The alternative, living in one of the student rooms @ 9m2, further away from the school, was not really an option.

It would of course have been good if the university had arranged appropriate housing. But since finding an appartment proved no particular problem for any of us arriving students, I guess I can't complain.

you don't share room in France and living with a french family wouldn't be possible and the appartments at campus could only be rented for one year
