My favorite places in Graz were Gecco and Three Monkeys in the weekends, Flan O'briens for having a drink at any time of the night, Three Monkeys for Karaoke on wednesdays, Bar Schein for a nice party on fridays, and regarding places to visit, there is a lot of history in Graz so is easy to find out what to visit there.......

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Because even it is nice to live in the school campus, sometimes when students do so, they dont really have the chance to experience and visit different places cause they hardly ever go out to areas not too close to the school campus so they miss a lot of the city's life and culture

I wish I had known...
Nothing, it is better when you experience things and learn by yourself instead of having someone else to tell you who might give you even sometimes a bad impression of something that you could even like in other situation

Final comments
there are many good low-cost airlines (RYANAIR, SKYEUROPE,GERMANWINGS) and nice good train offers that you can take advantage of when you travel around Europe so you need to be intelligent enough to find them and book in advance cause they are not that evident or easy to find. Always ask the ones have been there before. They will know better and give you lots of good tips
