Frankfurt Oder is a small city (about 60000 inhabitants), with much unemployment. Many local people are still moving. It was almost entirely destroyed during the world war. It was rebuilt, but the town misses a real "town center". There are very few cafés or night spots. Student club: La Grotte, Bananas. Cafés: Hemingway, Oderspeicher (nice old brewery along the Oder). The best is to go to Berlin (1h, 1h30 by train)

I'm studying International Business Administration, so that i can't chose any course, but can joint any course i like, so it's good. I mean in my faculty i got a strickt schedule for 3 years, but i can join any course of other faculties, if i like. So, you can join any course and any lecture you like.

Overall
I love my university so much and I am not alone with this. The University Viadrina won in 2019 the reward of the most Favorite University in Germany. I enjoy the quality of the classes a lot. and I had the opportunity to do my semester abroad in Spain and it was an amazing experience.
