Most places are good, as long as you stay within a bunch of friends who knows the place better than you do :) It´s also best to have some local friends with you.

I found it necesary to at least have language skills in Castillano. Catalán is not necesary, but if you learn a few phrases it can be helpful in meeting locals.

ESADE-organized housing is quite expensive and far away from the city center. Therefore it is helpful to look for apratments by yourself, esp. through internet

Course recommendations
Small-group design was great, yet the classes lacked theoretic ground, profoundness. Treating cases was the most common activity.

More profound theoretic base, a bit more open-mindedness with regard to the rest of the academic world, because ESADE is a little too proud of its professors, and its merits in general. But the facilities are great.

Course recommendations
If your Spanish allows it, take courses in Spanish if possible;courses in English are usually not given by natives. One course I relly liked was Gestion de Cambio.

Internationals should be involved more in activities and local student life. Classes in general are quite interactive with case studies, guest speakers, etc... which I liked a lot.

There are far more opportunities for nightlife in Barcelona than in just about any city in the US (except NYC). I also don't really travel too much in the US.
