Course recommendations
Avoid CSR-based courses like the plague - full of vague, hypocritical clap-trap. The leadership courses are less than impressive too. The core courses - Marketing, Finance, Logistics, etc. - are seldom exciting but are taught competently.

Personal comments
ESADE is heavily into image but lacks a genuine international flavour despite a sizeable foreign contingent in its student body. The fact is, ESADE is very 'Spanish' in its mindset and reflects the society that gave rise to it. This 'cultural handicap' will take a long time to eradicate and I wonder whether ESADE really has the will to pull it off.

There was a lot to see and do. Going in a foreign country is mainly motivated by the will to know the culture, so you have to go out more often than at home!

See as much as you can of Spain, spend less time studying. Go visit the different "fiestas" around Spain, such as the carnaval in Sitges, San Fermin in Pamplona, Holy Week in Sevilla++.

I wish I had known...
I wish I had dug beneath the 'Barcelona, Fun City, Culture City' hype and examined ESADE's 'international credentials' more closely. I was disappointed on both scores.

The core courses are good but not outstanding. The CSR and Leadership programmes are hype and simply an attempt by ESADE to stand out in a competitive international market.

Travel as much as you can on Spain's fairly cheap railway system (if only to get away from Barcelona).
