“Dalhousie Represents the True Meaning of Education, Belonging and Leadership”

Valoración global
I am currently in my 6th year of post-secondary school and in my first year at Dalhousie. The campus, resources and classrooms honour the true meaning of diversity, equity and inclusion. I feel a deep sense of belonging, acceptance, safety and security while earning my education, and learning the skills and tools to master my dreams, goals and potential. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to earn my education on this campus to ensure that I can earn a spectacular career and make a difference in the world.
My ordained destiny is to create artwork and literature to mobilize people to come together to create change within their communities for complex social issues. The social issues I will be focusing on will begin with the most venerable populations that are often not honoured a seat at tables when policy’s, laws and procedures are made about their equity seeking groups. I will educate people about the causes of social issues, prevention, ideology’s that contribute to them and what people can do in their communities to prevent them from escalating. I will use my artwork and literature to inspire through lived experience and story while honouring authentic leadership to represent change, growth and possibilities for a catastrophic shift in ideology’s. The shift in ideology will allow for the most venerable equity seeking groups to have a sense of belonging within their communities, significantly reduce crime rates and demonstrate the significant potential of divine oneness to ensure that we allow the most venerable people to contribute to our interrelated destinies by recognizing the power of divine oneness.
Pros of earning my education at Dalhousie:
1) I firmly believe that all of my professors, the staff and leadership are extremely ethical, professional and well respected. They honour diversity and inclusion in their classrooms and spaces. I am beyond grateful for this.
2) Our president is inspiring and a spectacular leader. She ensures that we all feel like we belong, included and welcome. She sends us welcome letters on the first day of school and a first day of school song list to ensure we are cared for and prepared for our journeys. She is authentic and values the true meaning of diversity, inclusion and leadership.
3) The campus is willing to constantly evolve by receiving feedback about anything at all. They also constantly evolve in regards to diversity, equity and inclusion to ensure all people feel a sense of belonging while reaching their goals.
4) I am excited to see what my future holds during and after my educational journey
Cons of earning my education at Dalhousie:
1) I am extremely devastated that I didn’t decide to come to Dalhousie sooner because they offer a discrimination free school, stigma free classrooms and I feel safe here. Not all schools are willing to evolve like Dalhousie.
Feedback and Ideas:
1) Professionals and leaders please take time to rest and relax while knowing that your authentic leadership of having integrity, respect and compassion makes a significant difference on campus for your students. No need to be anxious about not being good enough or worrying about what needs improvement because you are already enough. Your authentic personalities and leadership while ensuring you represent diversity and inclusion is already more than most campuses.

NO SHOPPING ON SUNDAY!!! Kind of weird really. A city of 400k trying to act like a small town. Ya i know it isn't THAT big but still.

Recomendación personal
You'll love it. Make sure to try and meet people early on, it really helps. Also if your looking for on-campus jobs you should go around to all the proffs. within 2weeks or so.

Basically you'll love it. As i said before it's a nice student oriented city. Good transit system. Decent mall, great nightlife. Good education especially in sciences. The local students say that Dal is generally for science students while St. Mary's is a Ars/commerce school. Final statment: You won't regreat it.

The courses are quite detailed and organized in a useful structure that merges well to the prerequisites and post requisite courses. I found that the instructors are open to questions and emails out of hours. I also appreciate how some professors are open to critique designs and ideas.
There are of course some professors who are less open to help and occasionally make life difficult, but we usually have good TA's and tutorials to help out.

There are several career fairs each term and there is a co-op job opportunity and job competition each term if you are enrolled in the course. There are co-op advisors for each discipline and the writing centre is good for getting tips on how to improve your writing in any use case.
I found my last internship through our MyCareer website portal. Companies who would like to accept coop students can put a job posting for students to apply to exclusively. Students can also just apply to jobs on their own so long as they apply to a specific quota each week.

More student-admin communication and colaboration. Students and professors don't seem to have enough say when it comes to admin decisions.
