There were some rules on the campus that did not seem fair. There would be more freedom living off campus and it wouldn't cost that much more.

The accommodation was fine except for the fact that you could not drink in the dorms and they made it hard to cook your own food unless you had the equipment. Students had to be enrolled in a food plan which wasn't the best food on the planet. But the dorms were quite spacious and allowed for socialising and hanging out.

There were some cool clubs but i don't really like clubs so i only went a few times. The best place to visit was Broadway on the beach because it had a lot of everything, it was just hard to get to.
I wish someone had told me that I was going to fall in love with an American. No seriously, every minute was a surprise and nothing anyone said before i went could have made a difference.

If you like southern food, stuck up northerners, and bad cafeteria food, then come to Coastal. The subjects are good though and if you look hard you can find some really cool people. You just need a car so buy one!!

Go to San Francisco. Meet as many foreigners as you can (even ones from other countries) and don't study too hard, party hard. i had a lot of fun and I miss my boyfriend. good luck to anyone who wants to go on exchange. It changes you forever.
Marine biology was good but way too much work. I didn't enjoy it because i was too stressed out trying to get everything in. Once i had finished something there was always something else to do. Botany with Dr. Pinson was excellent and a lot of fun. Avoid Cell biology unless you are a genius.

There were many words which Americans could not understand. It was quite hilarious. They do need a bit more education though about the rest of the world. I met a lot of cool people especially my boyfriend who was the sweetest guy on the planet and we had no communication problems.
At home i live with my parents so that cuts a lot of costs. It was hard to get around unless you had a car so you needed money for taxis, etc.

find someone with a car (preferably a girlfriend/boyfriend) and you are set for the semester. Also it is cheaper to hang out at people's houses than go out. Eat at the cafeteria!!!!1 if you can survive.
