The fact that f.e. landlords, or people in the offices generally didn't speak english i was pushed to speak polish.it wasn't so bad, because i learnt polish very quick.the university offered polish courses for beginners and imediate level as well, what was very helpful.people in shops didn't speak english,so i used or better say i tried to speak polish and it worked out.so i can say, i learn polish in level to get what i want. And also my english improved, as the study was in english and all international students spoken english.
