All Swedes who are in university speak fluent or close to fluent English. Any good English speaker will have no problem communicating with the locals and other international students.

doing the basic swedish course in august was a good idea, though most swedes speak english, it's nice to be able to read the news or ads.

If you know english more or less well, you'll have no problem for studying and living in Sweden. Although it's quite useful to learn at least some everyday phrases in Swedish.

As far as concern english no probno an lem, because I have been speaking english since I was 4. As far as swedish is concerned it was a good chance to learn a new language
