Scale down the eating habits, food is expensive. Calling out of Europe to N.america is ridiculous.Try and get a job at a bar as I did. Its not hard and you will be able to eat and drink for free.

Depending on your taste on music, but I like V-dala on Saturdays(they play trendy music). Smålands pub is pretty nice -- it's got the cozy atmosphere. Don't miss out on free movies at student nations on Sundays.

I felt comfortable speaking english and after a while I could also speak basic swedish. You can hear English on the TV, people speak it very well compared to my country, so it's quite easy to learn it on the go.
