Cafe Europa was a nice place, as many international students go there and more importantly, Finns hoping to meet people from abroad also when here. The Irish bar, O' Connells was also a popular haunt of the open-minded.

Type of housing: I shared a flat with other international students
Arranged by: Host university

If you have an internet connection in your appartment, take the very cheap internet subscription at TOAS. Buy your beverages as much as possible in large stores.

My major was finnish and after that year I could already manage very well in it. The finnish people I could talk with were helpful and very nice. The lecturer in finnish language didn't want to talk in english even if we sometimes didn't understand and it is the best way to be motivated to learn.
