Was quite easy to understand teachers at university. However, sometimes I had problems to understand their accent. But you'll get used to it very quickly.
By the way, I really like the real Mancunian accent!

The first week were a bit difficult because you need to speak during the seminars, but after 3 weeks, it seemed at easy as in french.

Some of the professors may consider losing their local accents a little. International students can hardly understand if they continue to lecture with a strong regional accent.
