I wish I had known...
I wish I would have known what a wonderful experience it ended up being. It would have taken away some of the anxiety of moving from the U.S. to Germany.

I am sorry to say that as of June 2002, UMUC in Scwäbisch Gmünd closed its doors as an international university. This a decision on the part of UMUC, who said "this environment does not fall into our strategic objectives of providing distance (online) education for the military". It was, in fact, the best experience of my life. I roomed 3 semesters with a girl from Zimbabwe, my closest friends were from India, Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Germany, Italy, and many more places. It saddened our entire "family" when we heard the news of the school closing after 10 years.

THIS IS ACTUALLY FOR THE CAMPUS IN MANNHEIM. THIS CAMPUS IS CLOSED. MANNHEIM WILL ALSO CLOSE IN MAY 2004.
