I was ok in English before going to Manchester as I had already gone to the US and Ireland but to be able to use it as an everyday language is a great asset and I learned more in 9 months than troughout my academic courses at school and university in Belgium.

Didn't understand anything for the first two hours in the city, but got used to it very quickly. Locals are helpful and do not make a problem if you don't understand everything for the first time...their accents might get you confused sometimes though ;)

I do believe that University of Manchester offers the best all round student experience in the world. Not only is it an esteemed university with a beautiful campus, it is in the heart of the north of the U.K.

The Footage in Oxford Road is both a modern and typical young pub where you can have a good time with your new friends. I'll miss Market Street with all its shops :) and the Frapuccino from Starbucks, as well as St Ann square with its library...

The lectures are informative and cover all bases through and through
