Course recommendations
I did not have to take courses since I joined a research project. However, the classes were really interesting for me. The lectures were always pretty well- organised. i did not have chances to communicate with teachers or lecturers there. But now I think that I should hae been more active for communicating with the teachers and the students.

If you are going to join a research project, it is better to concentrate on the project. It would be too hard if you are going to join a courses with practicals and reports.

Quite Fun City with great nightlife

Overall
Whilst located in the heart of Manchester, the university offers a great balance of life in a bustling city, whilst still being small enough to get everywhere without gruesome journey times. The university itself is ok, probably similar to other russel group universities.

Overall
Incredible sense of community and a great mixture of people who make your experience. Issues with student services such as mental health support. Very reputable physics department with some excellent lecturers however accessing support with your course may be hard due to the department being very large.

Food is definitely more expensive in Manchester than in Belgium and my various trips to London were even worse regarding the subject. I tried to limit my phone calls to the family but it was difficult especcialy when you got the blues. Nightlife was pretty similar except on certain 'special' occasions.

If your stomach is ready, you can apply for a catered hall but it has its drawbacks. You gotta be ready to face absolutely dreadful dishes and the schedules are tight.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
To feel more independent, to feel to live in your home and not in a flat where you don't feel really comfortable

Pretty good. I did not pay too much and I had a good service. I shared the flat with pretty people. My room was well furnished and the campus was just five-minute-walking from the University.
