University of Manchester has various campus locations and as diverse as your wishes may be, there will be something that will suit you. You probably won't spend much time at home anyway ;)

There wasn't much contact with the students who were doing the same courses as me. They weren't very open to foreigners or new students.

Manchester is an international city with people from all over the world and you will not struggle to find the people that you connect with. However, it is not as lively at night time compared to other cities in Europe. It is usually very quiet on the weekdays past 10 PM.

Cinemas(plenty of them and special price for students) ScuBar (you can have a good bear in a relaxing atmospehre), Tropicana (where you can find most of the student drinking and dancing cheesy music at a good price), Crobar( just to have a brake), Opera House (pretty small but you can see ballets, operas, and the best musical in tournée all around U.K.)
