Course recommendations
Registering for courses is kind of a nightmare at Leeds. I would advice to look through the course offerings at Leeds and make sure the ones you are interested in are available the semesters you are there. Then make a list with plenty of backups in case times conflict or courses are full.

Coming from the US, the acadamic style was very different. There is less hand holding in terms of frequent examinations or assignments. I felt like I learned less in the courses then I would have at my home institution. On the plus side, the smaller workload allowed me to enjoy all sorts of travel.

Definately Monday Nights at the Fruit Cupboard...I will never have an 80s night quite as amazing as those! Also, Tiger Tiger was a really fun club and good atmosphere. Favorite pubs: The Original Oak (great garden) THE LIBRARY (really young and student oriented w/ cheap drinks) and The Box (the most beautiful people at that place!)

nero cafe for a quick coffe fix, amazing shopping market on Brigate, townhouse, norman's for drinks and the light complex for diner, cinema etc!

You need to be aware if you can really support the cost of living, because it may be really expensive. Otherwise, be open minded and have fun!
