Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Living off-campus right now, after experiencing and comparing, on-campus is still better, no matter price or size. Off-campus feels isolated; prefer living in a community.

Personal comments
Prices for accommodation is reasonable, but doing laundry is a hassle. The idea of bill-inclusive is very welcomed. Plus it feels more like a community, where neighbours interact with you like friends, unlike off-campus where neighbours could be rather unfriendly, sometimes unchalant, in some extreme cases, racist. Living on campus also provides you walking distance to many facilities that the University provides.

Personal recommendation
It is a good place to study. Facilities are good and, at least in my area, the academic level is very good. It is a very international university too, with more than 50% of the students coming from abroad, mostly from other European countries.

Final comments
Canterbury is a fine but small city. For those demanding the "big life" of a big city it may become too small. On the other hand London is only 1 hour 45' away. Going to the Continent, mainly France, Belgium and The Netherlands, is very easy and not too expensive: Paris and Brussels are around 3 hours away. Not entirely unimportant, the weather here is much better than in other regions of GB.

Before coming to England to study, I had a very good grasp of the English language due to my several language training holidays. Now i think that i have significantly improve my english due to my interaction with my roomates, teachers, the others students in different acitivities and societies (rowing, salsa...) It's a really good experience to go studying in England in order to learn and improve knowledge of the language and culture

living in self-accommodation on campus is recommendable although you have to consider the campus can get noisy and you can't really choose your house mates. And a lot of people living in self-accomodation on campus are Erasmus so if you want to live with English people you might be disappointed or should explicitly ask for a room in a house with English students.

Academic
Course recommendations
I only did 4 modules in the whole year and had fewer lessons than at my home university. You're expected to study a lot on your own and work a lot for your essays.

I think Eglish universities should offer more modules offering you an overview and Eglish students should have to do a few more instead of focussing on just some particular areas.

It is too expensive but tue standard of life is great there, so I recommend everyone to live on campus to take advantage of the student social life.
