I wish I had known...
Way of studying is different from the on I experienced in my home country. Students are expected to spend a lot of time studying alone and the system is more focused on reading and writing than on lecturing and teaching.

I wish I had known...
That there are many things to go visit on the outer skirts of town. That the weather isn't as bad as they say.

It is a good University, where local students make you a part of their everyday life. Teachers are really helpful and everything is very organised.

When you first get to Huddersfield, get to know where you are in terms of geography, so you can move around to other places like York, in the weekends. Transportation is expensive, so invest in a month pass. Further, in the neighbouring town, Bradford, they serve the best Indian Curries.

Overall
When I ended my BA in Communication Design I followed the suggestion of some mentors who explained to me how it is important to speak an international language today. I felt complete with my Bacher of Art, but I saw this opportunity to study abroad, that helped me in a massive way for every aspect of my life, personal and professional. After two years in Huddersfield, I can say that it is a great place to study and to have a balanced life. The University has got impressive buildings, personnel is engaging and prepared to teach your chosen subjects. I had the opportunity to learn new disciplines. I really believe that this is a valuable experience for everyone.
