What costs a guider in Holland, was about a dollar in the US. And a doller was 2,5 guilders at the time I was there. On the phone I spent less because local calls were free and because people from abroa called me.

Yes, I had to book a new ticket home for $700!!!!! But this was partly my own fault. Cost saving tips: rent a house with people you know instead of a private lease. Buy a car together with friends. Don't go out for dinner too much! If you want to eat good food, that is really expensive. Get used to staying in one club a night instead of the (in Holland more popular) club-hopping.

Great University Experience
Jacob H
United States, Graduate
Business Studies, 2019
Overall
The courses were challenging, but manageable. Most professors actually seemed to be there to help you, which is crucial once in graduate school since the course load becomes more difficult. I made many great memories, but now it is time to move on and start a career (hopefully in Germany)!

All the clubs and cafes are forced to close at 2.00am wich is pretty early. I would recommend the Palace as a good Dance Floor.

Downtown Gainesville is very busy at night and there is a lot to do if you enjoy hip hop music. As I was under 21 when I went there, I was not allowed to enter all the bars and clubs but I would strongly recommend the "Fat Tuesday" bar and the "Lotus" club on tursday . Otherwise, the university also offered free cinema (every friday) or concerts.

Academic
Course recommendations
Some courses are broadcasted on TV when too many students want to attend the class, which can be disturbing for French students, used to go to class and to interact with teachers. Therefore, it is important to know that teacher assistants are available to help at anytime.
