I loved it. Met a lot of new people. Bath isn't exactly the center of the universe, but it's a nice town. I wish I could have stayed there longer

“A wonderful place for extra curricular activities!”

Netherlands, Undergraduate
Development Studies, 2022
Overall
I study International Development and am part of the cycling and lacrosse teams, and the Welsh and Women's in Business societies.
I find the course fascinating, the teachers and content engaging, the people super kind and the placement year is also something great to do as part of your degree and Bath is known for their placements.

Housing
Type of housing: Off campus residence
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Off campus residence
Why?
You can easily meet foreign and British students thanks to these residences and they are located in the city centre which really is a beautiful place to live in .

Personal comments
I live in a kitchen group with eight other roommates, all studying at the university of Bath. Our rooms are quite large and we share the kitchen and the bathroom. Joint tenancy is really a good experience which I strongly recommend.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
To live in an independent Apartment/House is fine, but not in the town's suburbs, like I did. I would choose to live closer to the town center, so to have better connections to the university, to shops and to friends.

Personal comments
It was very difficult to find a good apartment, because in England you can't find a housing if you are not in a group (and I came alone to Bath). The university does not give an apartment to exchange students who stay less than a year in Bath. But the accommodation office of the university provides everybody with a list of free apartments/rooms in Bath and surroundings. Prices for rooms are very high.
