Studying in London is the best way to get to know the city. Though is it expensive it is worth it: it is a dazzling world full of extremes: culture als low-culture, rich and poor, British and non-British, ... everything mixed together.

A great university for studying languages
Tom P
United Kingdom, Undergraduate
Language, 2020
Overall
For studying modern languages, UCL is ideal. You get good language teaching, but more importantly, the literature side of the course gives you a chance to learn under some of the leading academics in their field.

London is also obviously a great place for doing languages, since it's so easy to find cultural events and native speakers with whom you can practice speaking. On top of this studying in such a big city makes it easy to find an interesting part-time job, helping you earn money on the side, and gain useful experience.

The obvious downside of UCL is the cost of living in London, and this is why so many people here get part-time jobs- if you don't want to live in a cupboard size room, the London isn't for you.

UCL: global university with plenty of opportunities
Laura P
United Kingdom, Undergraduate
Environmental Sciences, 2022
Overall
UCL is an international institution where it is easy to feel welcome to. It defines itself as a global university, and it truly is.
The courses and the lecturers are generally very well prepared, and available to talk to the students.
The services provided by the university, such as the library and the careers office, are extremely useful and easily available.
In regards to student life, not only one benefits from the exciting life in London, full of the event all the year-round, but the university itself and the student union offers a wide range of activities. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that by being part of UCL students have access to the services and activities of the University of London too (the latter is a league of several London's Universities).

Stay in inter-collegiate halls if possible, it allows you to meet more people with more divers backgrounds. Get involved in local student groups through UCL or University of London, the oppertunities are endless

London is a fabulous though expensive city. The University is top of the line and the people are friendly, helpful and cultured. You will learn so much about your field and about yourself.
