UCC is an university where you must work very hard to pass your exams and write many essays and projects during the year. Reading many books to do so could be difficult for those students whose english level it is no very fluent.

Don't miss Galway, connemara and the Ring of Kerry. Also Saint Patrick's day is cool.

It's really interesting to travel around Ireland and visiting as many villages as possible.

Ireland is wonderfull!My personal raccomandation is to travel a lot and visit the Country. And, why not take a flight from time to time( you find 10 euros flight from dublin). Don't be afraid of Irish people: they look cold at the beginnig but when you get to know them, they are really nice and friendly.

Don't bother with umbrellas! You'll poke someone's eye out! Instead, bring along a nice rain slicker.

Final comments

A study abroad experience is all what you make of it. My advice is to do as much as you can with the time you have. Visit Blarney, Kinsale and Cobh if you can - they are close to Cork and the expense to get there is minimal. Cork is a big city squeezed into a little area so be sure to go down all the side roads in order to find the best kebab shops, jewellry stores, etc.

The campus is lovely, lots of trees and green places and old buildings, you'll enjoy studying outside before the exams.

Final comments

Some places to see absolutely: Galway, the Ring of Kerry, the Dingle Peninsula, and above all the Connemara Lakes!!! If you want to rent a car, if you're under 23, go to the Tourist Office in Cork: it's the only place where peolple under 23 can rent a car.
