Overall, language was never an issue in the Netherlands because most of the teachers were able to explain things quite easily in English.

Most of the people of the Netherlands speak a very good English, and are open to do it with foreigners, in every location: shops, university, etc.

few occasions to speak dutch, since everyone there speaks english. That made things easier, but I learned just a few sentences of dutch

I woud have liked to learn dutch but everybody in the netherlands speak and like to speak english. I've just learned few dutch words..
