Insure that your university at home liase with the host university as there was not much organisation when I went to abroad and I was left to organise everything with no help.

There are no improvements that can be made at the host university. The student must accept that different countries have different ways of teaching and assessing and it is these that you have to come to terms with.

Don´t join the courses in "valenciano", you don´t understand a word and it´s real extra-work.

The university of Valencia doesn´t have an introduction week at the beginning of the semester. And most of the teachers still don´t have fixed hours of attention. It would be nice to organize a meeting for all the international students because you loose a lot of time until you really start studying.

Try and have "back up" courses, because you may not be able to enrol for all the courses you want. Enrollment for erasmus is up to a month after everyone else.
